Christmas Gift Appeal
KIND-HEARTED staff at Arriva Transport Solutions have made sure children have a present to unwrap when they wake up on Christmas morning.
Dozens of toys were donated to Dukinfield Children’s Centre and Greenside Children’s Centre in Tameside as well as the Starlight Children’s Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital following our annual appeal for presents.
Jon Horlock, Acting Team Manager at Dukinfield and Greenside children’s centres, said: “Many children within Tameside rely so much on generous donations in ensuring they can enjoy a happy Christmas.
“Demand this year is higher than ever and without these contributions many children would be facing Christmas morning with nothing to open.
“These gifts add Christmas sparkle to many families who without your generosity would be unable to enjoy the magic of Christmas.”
Pauline Cope, The Starlight Unit Ward Manager, said: “We are delighted that Arriva Transport Solutions has once again remembered our young patients who will be in hospital over Christmas.
“Thank you to all concerned for your kindness. Please accept our good wishes for Christmas and the New Year.”
The presents were donated by staff at our Audenshaw, Oldham and Wythenshawe bases who decided to buy one extra gift and help local families in need.
Wendy Burke, Customer Support Manager at ATSL in Audenshaw, said: “We are all busy at this time of year but it is important to take a moment to think about people who are struggling.
“I would like to thank every member of staff who made a donation and hope the toys bring some joy to children across Tameside this Christmas.”« BACK
