Easter Egg Bunny

THE Easter bunny hopped behind the wheel of an ambulance to deliver dozens of chocolate eggs to children across Tameside.

Staff at our Audenshawe base hatched the idea to donate the eggs to Ridge Hill Children’s Centre in Stalybridge and brighten up Easter for families who are struggling financially.

Jean Peters, manager at Ridge Hill Children’s Centre, said: “We have been out to distribute the eggs to families experiencing financial hardship and had the pleasure of seeing the smiles on children’s faces.

“An Easter egg may not seem much to families in general but can have a big impact on children living in poverty who do not have the opportunity to experience treats such as Easter eggs.”

The eggs were donated by staff at ATSL’s Audenshawe base and delivered using one of their ambulances.

Wendy Burke, ATSL customer support manager, said: “We have very generous and caring staff and they wanted to do something special for children this Easter.

“Some families simply don’t have the money to buy children treats like an Easter egg and it is wonderful to see the difference a small act of kindness can make for people living in our community.”
