Facts and figures
Arriva Transport Solutions Limited (ATSL) provides non-emergency patient transport services across the UK.
In 2012, ATSL acquired Ambuline, a patient transport provider with over 30 years of experience. Ambuline is now a wholly owned subsidiary of ATSL.
The Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) is a NHS funded service for patients who, due to a medical condition, cannot make their own way to NHS appointments.
The service is available for patients travelling to and from a hospital appointment or treatment centre, upon discharge from hospital or for transfer between treatment centres.
The criteria to determine if a patient is eligible for transport is set by the Department of Health. All patient transport providers apply these rules when accepting bookings for transport.
ATSL currently operates 12 NEPTS contracts across the UK.
