Partnership with CitySprint

ATSL Health has announced it has partnered with CitySprint to deliver medical courier services

Arriva Transport Solutions Health has announced it has partnered with CitySprint Healthcare to provide medical courier services as part of its contract with Homerton University Hospital NHS Trust.

CitySprint Healthcare is the specialist medical and pharmaceutical division of CitySprint, the UK’s largest same-day delivery company. As part of the partnership they will courier medical specimens, such as blood and other vital commodities, between hospitals and primary care services including GP surgeries.

CitySprint Healthcare has provided courier services for Homerton University Hospital NHS Trust for a number of years, and the company has now integrated its operations with Arriva Transport Solutions Health as part of the transition of the contract handover.

Fiona Roxburgh, programme director for Arriva Transport Solutions, said: “We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with CitySprint Healthcare to provide our medical courier services as part of the Homerton Hospital contract.

“We see a strong synergy between our two operations as we both bring extensive knowledge from years of clinical experience. We believe that this partnership will allow us to provide better service to patients across London as we move forward.”

Andy Turner, CitySprint Healthcare Director, commented: “We are delighted to be entering this partnership with Arriva Transport Solutions to improve healthcare transport services to the local community in Hackney.”

Arriva Transport Solutions Health took over the provision of non-emergency patient transport and medical courier services in Hackney on behalf of Homerton University Hospital NHS Trust from 1st July.

The £1.3m five year contract will provide non-emergency patient transport to the Borough of Hackney and surrounding areas, this will include taking patients to and from their appointments at the hospital or any of the NHS treatment centres within the trust’s community services.

Arriva Transport Solutions Health brings together its transport and logistical experience with more than 30 years’ clinical expertise, through its established Ambuline operations - undertaking nearly 4000 non-emergency patient transport journeys every day.
